Telescope Making Classes

Dear Colleagues,

Encouraged with the success of sky watch activity, RRCAT Staff Club is organising telescope making classes from Sunday, May, 14, 2017. These classes shall be taken by Dr Sendhil Raja. To make this program more effective and useful, we want to limit the number of participants. So this programme is mainly targeted at students of class 11 and above including college students.

The details of the program are as below:

Day/date : Every Sunday starting May 14 to June 11, 2017
No of sessions : 5 (every Sunday)
Venue : Community center inside lawns
Time : 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Participation : Free
Who should attend : Students of class 11 and above including college students. 

Activity :
The activity will involve grinding and polishing of a 6" primary mirror by
hand and assembling a Newtonian telescope using it. Along with the hands
on classes a brief introduction to various types of telescopes will also
be provided.
