Instructions:
- The first edition of RRCAT Cyclothon (~ 18 km) will be organized on March 30, 2019, (Saturday), Time 06:30 hrs by RRCAT Staff Club.
- RRCAT Cyclothon will not be competitive event or race but it is a fitness drive and organized with an aim to promote cycling in RRCAT green campus, so no riders ranking will be given.
- The minimum age of participants for the cyclothon must be 10 years or above as on 31st March 2019 and no. of entries per family is limited to 3 nos.
- There is a cut off time for the cyclothon, and riders who will finish within cut off time will be considered as qualified finisher. Violation of rules and regulation will result in disqualification.
- The cut off timings will be
- For age group between 10 to 50 years: 1 hour 30 minutes
- For age group above 50 years: 2 hour
(For female participants there is relaxation of additional 30 minutes in the respective age group)
- All the participants will be provided with T-Shirt and only Qualified finishers will be awarded with commemorative finishers medal and an e-certificate.
- The online application form for this event can be filled by members through staff club website.
- The pdf file/form generated after filling an online form along with the fees is to be submitted at RRCAT Staff Club Office at Welfare Center between 17:00 hrs to 20:30 hrs.
- Entry fee for the event is Rs 100/- per person and is to be deposited on or before 21st March 2019.
- Number of entries is limited to 200 participants and it will be on first cum first serve based on fees received at RRCAT Staff Club Office (Welfare center).
- The collection of fees will be stopped once no. of participants reaches 200 mark and then no entries will be entertained even if it filled online.
- The tentative route map for the cyclothon is given below and all riders are required to finish four laps of the route. Volunteers will be present to guide the riders in case of confusion.
Rules and regulations
- During the event, each rider is considered to be on a personal ride. All riders are required to conduct themselves in a civil manner and abide by all applicable traffic laws and regulations in RRCAT campus.
- RRCAT Staff Club officials and volunteers will observe and co-operate but cannot and will not accept responsibility for any accidents that may occur during the course of the RRCAT-Cyclothon
- RRCAT Staff Club reserves the right to refuse or cancel any application (not as per instruction mentioned above) for individuals who have:
- Demonstrated a lack of respect for riding regulations and conventions.
- Disrespectful in their interactions with organizers, ride officials, volunteers and fellow-riders.
- Conducted themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner at riding route.
- It is mandatory to display the rider number provided by RRCAT Staff Club on their chest.
- It is advised to wear sports shoes, helmet, sunglasses, cap during the ride.
- Each rider must be self-sufficient. No support cars / vehicles of any kind are permitted during the Cyclothon ride.
- Personal support is only allowed at support stations (2 nos. in each lap). Any violation of this requirement will result in immediate disqualification.
- Any instance of fraud, cheating, or deliberate violation of any of the ride rules of RRCAT Cyclothon 2019 will result in the exclusion of the rider from the ride. Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
- Hanging on to or taking the support of a motorized vehicle during a Cyclothon
- Drafting behind a motorized vehicle or a cyclist (who has not or has registered for Cyclothon)
- Dragging (walking along with own cycle) is allowed during the ride if required.
- Riders who decide to quit at any point should inform ride officials or volunteers at any check points.
- Any question concerning RRCAT Cyclothon or how it is organised must be submitted through online to organizer, within 48 hours from the start of the Cyclothon. No question or suggestion will be entertained during event.
