Trekking Programme

Nature and Adventure Circle, RRCAT Staff Club has arranged one day trek on 29th October 2023 at Kalakund,

 

Participation

Members of RRCAT Staff Club and their families (CHSS card holders only).

Region

The picturesque Choral river valley reflects the lush green portrait of the region.

Reporting time & venue

07:15 hrs. RRCAT Welfare Centre (near shopping complex)

Trekking Date & programme

29th October 2023 (Sunday), Kalakund Trekking.

Bus departure time

07:30 hrs. (sharp)

Approx. time of arrival at RRCAT Colony

Rs 150/- per head*. (Subsidized by RRCAT Staff Club)

Note 3: In case of over response in this trek, a repeat trek will also be arranged for Kalakund on 17th September, 2023. Preference will be given to those participants who could not participate in 27th August, 2023, trek. The registration date for the repeat trek will be declared after completing the first trek.

  1. Enrollment will be strictly after payment of enrollment fee. Prior enrollment is essential, gate crashers will not be allowed. Please note, on the spot registration is not permitted.
  1. The number of participants limited to 100 only. Entry would be on the first cum first serve basis. After first 100 participants, forms of next 10 participants only will be accepted and considered if there is any cancellation from the first 100 applicants.
  1. Please attached photocopy of CHSS card/s with the enrollment form for family members.
  1. Minimum age limit is 8 yrs. and maximum age limit is 60 yrs. Children should be accompanied with parents.
  1. Hunter or sports shoes are mandatory. Other essentials are sun cap, water bottle, personal medicines.
  1. Participants should carry their own packed lunch.
  1. During the trek program, decision of leaders should be treated as final on trekking and related issues. Participants should extend cooperation.
  1. Nature & Adventure Circle welcomes the participants who are willing to share responsibilities during trek.
  1. RRCAT Staff Club assumes no responsibility for any damage due to injury or loss during trek. 
    • Not permitted: Smoking, disturbing noise, swimming, alcohol during the trek.
    • Do not: Spoil the way / nature by creating litters of wrappers, polythene or bottles.

Nature and Adventure Circle, RRCAT Staff Club has arranged one day trek on 14thAugust 2022 at Barfani fall, near Kunjrod village (Manpur region).

 

Participation

Members of RRCAT Staff Club and their families (CHSS card holders only), HBNI students, CAT-I, CAT-II trainees and TASAR trainees.

Region

The waterfall is located in the lush green valley of Chambal river. It is one of the picturesque locations in this region.

07:15 hrs. RRCAT Welfare Centre (near shopping complex)

14thAugust 2022 (Sunday), trek to Barfani fall and back (~ 8 km).

Information Related to the Event:

  1. The complete list of participants is available the the link given below. Please make sure your name is there in the list if you have applied online and paid the fees.

  2. The T-shirt and bib will be distributed at the Convention Center, RRCAT Colony at about 6:45 PM on March 28, 2019. (after the talk "Techniques for efficient cycling"). 
  3. The reporting time is sharp 6:30 AM at the Convention Center, RRCAT Colony. The flag off of all the groups A, B, C and D (gap of 2 min) will be done by Director, RRCAT and Guest of Honour at 6:45 AM. 
  4. The medals will be distributed to the finishers at 8:00 AM at the Convention Center. The decision of the organising committee will be final and abiding to all the participants in this matter. 
  5. The refreshment will be provided to all the participants at 8:30 AM at the terrace of Convention Center.
  6. The final route is displayed below. There are 2 Support Stations and 6 Check Points. Plain water, ORS solution and some orange toffees will be available at the support stations. The volunteers will be standing at the Check Points for verification of fair and complete ride as per the scheduled route. 

 

Instructions:

  1. The first edition of RRCAT Cyclothon (~ 18 km) will be organized on March 30, 2019, (Saturday), Time 06:30 hrs by RRCAT Staff Club.
  2. RRCAT Cyclothon will not be competitive event or race but it is a fitness drive and organized with an aim to promote cycling in RRCAT green campus, so no riders ranking will be given.
  3. The minimum age of participants for the cyclothon must be 10 years or above as on 31st March 2019 and no. of entries per family is limited to 3 nos.
  4. There is a cut off time for the cyclothon, and riders who will finish within cut off time will be considered as qualified finisher. Violation of rules and regulation will result in disqualification.
  5. The cut off timings will be
    1. For age group between 10 to 50 years: 1 hour 30 minutes
    2. For age group above 50 years: 2 hour
      (For female participants there is relaxation of additional 30 minutes in the respective age group)
  6. All the participants will be provided with T-Shirt and only Qualified finishers will be awarded with commemorative finishers medal and an e-certificate.
  7. The online application form for this event can be filled by members through staff club website.
  8. The pdf file/form generated after filling an online form along with the fees is to be submitted at RRCAT Staff Club Office at Welfare Center between 17:00 hrs to 20:30 hrs.
  9. Entry fee for the event is Rs 100/- per person and is to be deposited on or before 21st March 2019.
  10. Number of entries is limited to 200 participants and it will be on first cum first serve based on fees received at RRCAT Staff Club Office (Welfare center).
  11. The collection of fees will be stopped once no. of participants reaches 200 mark and then no entries will be entertained even if it filled online.
  12. The tentative route map for the cyclothon is given below and all riders are required to finish four laps of the route. Volunteers will be present to guide the riders in case of confusion.

Rules and regulations

  1. During the event, each rider is considered to be on a personal ride. All riders are required to conduct themselves in a civil manner and abide by all applicable traffic laws and regulations in RRCAT campus.
  2. RRCAT Staff Club officials and volunteers will observe and co-operate but cannot and will not accept responsibility for any accidents that may occur during the course of the RRCAT-Cyclothon
  3. RRCAT Staff Club reserves the right to refuse or cancel any application (not as per instruction mentioned above) for individuals who have:
    1. Demonstrated a lack of respect for riding regulations and conventions.
    2. Disrespectful in their interactions with organizers, ride officials, volunteers and fellow-riders.
    3. Conducted themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner at riding route.
  4. It is mandatory to display the rider number provided by RRCAT Staff Club on their chest.
  5. It is advised to wear sports shoes, helmet, sunglasses, cap during the ride.
  6. Each rider must be self-sufficient. No support cars / vehicles of any kind are permitted during the Cyclothon ride.
  7. Personal support is only allowed at support stations (2 nos. in each lap). Any violation of this requirement will result in immediate disqualification.
  8. Any instance of fraud, cheating, or deliberate violation of any of the ride rules of RRCAT Cyclothon 2019 will result in the exclusion of the rider from the ride. Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
    1. Hanging on to or taking the support of a motorized vehicle during a Cyclothon
    2. Drafting behind a motorized vehicle or a cyclist (who has not or has registered for Cyclothon)
  9. Dragging (walking along with own cycle) is allowed during the ride if required.
  10. Riders who decide to quit at any point should inform ride officials or volunteers at any check points.
  11. Any question concerning RRCAT Cyclothon or how it is organised must be submitted through online to organizer, within 48 hours from the start of the Cyclothon. No question or suggestion will be entertained during event.

General Instructions:

  2. The numbers of participants are limited to 100 only. After first 100 participants, application of ONLY next 20 participants will be accepted online and will be considered for participation if there is any cancellation. There is no provision of off-line enrollment.
  3. Kindly bring your original payment receipt along with ID card or CHSS card during reporting time.
  4. Age limit for the trek is minimum 10 yrs. for children and maximum 60 yrs. for adults. Children should be accompanied with parents.
  5. There is no provision of cancellation (i.e. refund of fees).
  6. Participants should carry their own packed lunch.
  7. Trekking is a serious outdoor activity; it’s not a picnic. Participants are requested to follow safe practices like proper clothing track suit or full lower (No shorts, Barmuda etc..) are allowed.  Compulsory hiking shoes (Hunter or sports shoes) are mandatory and slippers and sandals are not allowed.  Other essentials are sun cap, water bottle, personal medicines, raincoat/umbrella (if required).
  8. During the trek program, decision of leaders will be final and participants are requested to cooperate.
